Adelphi's 2022 Spirit Weekend, running from October 12鈥揙ctober 16, will offer five days of fun on campus and beyond鈥攁nd more events than ever before.

Industry-steering alumni share their insights and perspectives on the future.

Throughout our 125-year history, many of Adelphi鈥檚 women leaders were the only women in the classroom, boardroom or corner office鈥攁nd had to blaze a trail for the women who followed in their respective fields.

These boards鈥攁nd their dedicated members鈥攎ake critical contributions to advancing student success. For example, our Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology Advisory Board launched its first-ever fundraising initiative 10 years ago to help support PhD students from diverse backgrounds. That scholarship fund has since grown to $1.25 million.

While some alumni continue in the field, others are putting the skills they've acquired in the program to use in a variety of careers.

Peter Yacobellis 鈥�05 is a change agent for the LGBTQIA+ community, working to create a safer, more inclusive and accepting environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, nonbinary and gender-fluid youths and adults.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in English, trans poet Benny Sisson, MFA '20, wanted to get her master's degree in creative writing. She was accepted by many MFA programs, but after visiting Adelphi's campus, Sisson knew Adelphi 鈥渇elt right and like a really good community," she said.

Three inspiring alumni have joined the 茄子视频 Board of Trustees, bringing a wealth of international experience and business success. We are delighted to introduce them.

茄子视频's 22nd annual President's Gala on Saturday, June 11, raised more than $345,000 for the President's Student Success Scholarship, an endowment that has now surpassed $1 million. This year's event at The Garden City Hotel concluded Adelphi's 125th-anniversary celebrations, honoring the University's legacy and those who support its longevity and mission.

Mirirai Sithole has been working steadily since she graduated from 茄子视频 in 2012 with a BFA in theater. Her acting credits include numerous off-Broadway productions, including School Girls: Or, the African Mean Girls Play. On television, she's had roles in Black Mirror, Broad City, and Russian Doll鈥攁nd season two of the Natasha Lyonne series is now available on Netflix.
