As the nation approaches the 20th anniversary of September 11, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City commemorates and honors those killed in the terrorist attacks of that day鈥攁s well as the earlier terrorist truck bomb attack that occurred on February 26, 1993鈥攁nd the survivors and first responders, and recognizes the many ways in which the world came together in the aftermath.

On September 11, 2001, a 27-year-old management associate with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey went to his office on the 86th floor of One World Trade Center. When the building was hit shortly after, he led several coworkers to safety.
