Research Interests
My research primarily focuses on parenting. Through my scientific and theoretical work, I aim to understand the factors contributing to parents' ability to respond sensitively, compassionately, and adaptively to their children. I investigate the dynamics that lead to hostile and coercive parenting, as well as the factors that facilitate parental availability to meet and respond to children's needs. In my research, I place particular emphasis on parents' capacity for mentalization and parental capacity for emotion regulation. Additionally, I explore how collaborative co-parenting between partners can support a child's development.
My previous work focused on studying parenting processes related to raising children with ADHD and the development of parenting-based interventions for this population. I also studied parent-child interactions in the academic context and developed an intervention to reduce counterproductive parental involvement during homework time.
My current projects focus on examining the parental role in the digital era and the parental impact on children's adaptive use of digital media. In addition, I am studying the role of the voice in parent-child interactions.
As a clinical psychologist and researcher, I strive to bridge the gap between developmental science, clinical practice, and policy. My mission is to advance the scientific understanding of parenting processes and contribute to the development of evidence-based interventions that empower parents and support children’s well-being.
