Principal Investigator ($1,244,035). R2E2ADI (Recruiting and Retaining Educators for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion). Funded by the State University of New York Teacher Workforce Investment Grant.
In partnership with the New York City Public Schools, the grant will support our newest teaching professionals through alternative certification programs such as the Trans B licensure pathway to gain certification in math education (grades 7-12), science education (biology, physics, chemistry or earth science, grades 7-12), computer science education (grades K-12) or Students With Disabilities/SWD (grades 7-12).
Lead Writer and Co-Principal Investigator ($300,000). Teacher Residency Program Grant. Co-PIs Emily Kang, Dan Rehman, Dana Reilly, Lisa Minicozzi (West Hempstead School District). Funded by the New York State Department of Labor. The NYSDOL TRP provides funds for one-year residency opportunities for graduate-level K-12 teacher candidates in partnership with private and public teacher preparation programs. The award will fund 10 candidates at $30,000 per teacher candidate that can be used to provide free tuition (including books and fees), resident wages, and/or stipends for living expenses. This funding source is a key way to diversify our teacher candidate pool to better serve local school districts.
